A Brief History of
College
When Bargarh emerged as a new
district , the emergence of opening a new degree college at Head
Quarter was deeply realized. Thereafter some enthusiastic citizens
of Bargarh township planned to commence the First-ever +3 (Degree)
co-education College in its municipality area. This long-cherished
dream came true when Trust Fund Degree College got permission to begin
its First Session i.e. 1998-1999 by means of admitting students to
Science and Arts streams. Subsequently this institution was
recognized by D. H. E., Orissa and affiliated to Sambalpur
University.
This educational institution started evolving in every sphere with
unfailing support of some conscious citizens of Bargarh towns They
heartily extended their untiring helping hands to several occasions
to march ahead. Hence they were assigned to adorn some dignified

In course of time

aspirations of the students coming not only from the township and adjacent
localities but also from other parts of Orissa. In its journey towards the
peak of academic achievement, this college scaled another height by dint of
opening its Honors subject Physics, Zoology in 2003-2004 History in
2005-2006 and odia and Botany in 2010-11. With the increasing strength of
the students and classes session a new additional building has been
constructed recently which has partially been funded by western Orissa
development council, This eminent educational Institution is located at the
heart of Bargarh town near Kalimandir Chowk. This square is studded with
three huge temples of Goddess Kali, Lord shiva and Lord Hanuman whose grace
emanates for the well-being of this locality.
Bargarh is one of the fastest developing industrial towns in Odisha having a
cluster of major industrial units such as Cement Factory, Rice Mills, Sugar
Mill, Spinning Mill and the world famous handloom i.e. Sambalpuri Bastralaya,
Here the festival of Dhanuyatra makes the entire town the longest and
largest mythological open air theatre in the world bearing a rich cultural
heritage. Owing to the canal water of Hirakud Dam Bargarh earns most in
rice. Hence it is christened as Rice-Bowl of Odisha. Bargarh is an easily
accessibe place for comfortable communication through roadways and
railways. NH6 and NH 201 passing through Bargarh and the Railway line
connecting it with Raipur-Vishakhapatnam main line at Titilagarh along
with Kolkata-Mumbai main line at Jharsuguda ensure good communication to
the major cities and town not only of Odisha but also of india.
Now the Principal along with teaching and non-teaching staffs is toiling
very hard to enhance the standard and college as well which must take it to
a new enlightened horizon.
